A Perfect Pair: Imperfect Chairs

Two chairs cough their insides across a day room at Hurricane Psychiatric Center in New York.

Once a resting place for weary souls, these chairs are now themselves are weary and worn.

Quietly.
Patiently.

Gutted and nearly lifeless, they await another adventurous traveler to stop, relax and tarry a while; taking a deep breath and the time to absorb the history, the energy and feel the story they are so eager to share.

i think these are two of the more interesting chairs i’ve seen in abandonments, and i’ve seen so many it’s hard to even count :)

you caught the colors really well, and the way they seem to be bleeding all their stuffing out. your descriptions are always a treat.

    G’day PP,

What a lovely, comfy pair of lounge chairs to grace any discerning home maker’s living room.
They are a great find and I feel the tight framing/crop works well by keeping the viewer right on the money.
Very good lighting and the exposure has taken full advantage of that in rendering a nice contrast.
A good depth right through the subject and a crisp focus give us all the gruesome detail and the colours are nicely natural.
    Great work that man!
