Andrew this a beautiful photo and girl. I’m sure she is very happy with it.

A really pretty picture and girl, I think you have made a good choice using black and white as it seems to bring out those tones in her hair, the pose is brilliantly composed, its not full on in your face, its like shes turning to look at you which is very effective! Though I love the effect of her hair becoming out of focus in the background, you can start to see on the left hand side of her face is slightly soft maybe, but again thats just me being really picky again haha, but a really nice shot, keep it up man!

  • thanks for you comment tris,

you’ve defiantly got a good eye for critique as i would agree, i was shooting on f5 which is where the softness comes from… although i like the variation in skin texture especially for a small portrait photo thats going on the guildhall of drama website. for the next shoot ill use a higher F stop and add the blur in photoshop if need be!

thanks for your comments guys. : D

Think you have captured great eye contact which I believe is so important to a photo. She looks very relaxed and humble.

    The shot is excellent.
Lauren might try something like Cornsilk (dry) makeup to curb the shine on her face.
Vaseline on lips should work. Maybe a little yellow under the lower eyes, where the shadows are.

There’s different makeup for B&W and for color shots.

Take a few with her hair back off her face.

She’s absolutely beautiful, but film makes different demands on beauty.

Hope I didn’t shred your confidence, or hers!
