Lycaeides subsolana by pogomcl

Currently unavailable for purchase

Lycaeides subsolana on toadflax. Eversmann, 1851 Identified on a Russain Lycaenidae site. Looks like a silver-studded blue with the white bridging on the back wing, but front wing eyespots are peculiar that do not match Silver-Studded. Blue eyespots on the backwing are similar to that of Idas Blue rather than the Silver-studded. Other species alternative names for Lycaeides are Plebejus, plebeius, Alpherakya, Lycoena, Maurus, Plebejides, Plebulina, Rusticus,. Definitely not Idas, Suilver-studded or Reverdin.
