Evidence of Children
Just a poem written after going out for a walk one day :)
I walk along the street
With my eyes searching the ground in front of me
And I see
Evidence of Children
A discarded Dinosaur
A purple foam letter H
A smiley face sticker, stuck onto the footpath
Treadmarks across its shiny yellow face
The street is quiet, nary a voice is heard
I never see them, on my sojourns into the world
Yet there it is…
The evidence of Children…

Your poetry is just wonderful Nicole, I really love the style and your fantastic use of language, and I think this piece would be my favourite. Little wonders that most people ignore. Great work.

Yes, great style. And a good eye.

I have a six year old. Believe me they exist. I like how your discovery is almost like an archaeologist or a paleontologist (discarded dinosaur). Nice work

I have kids. I’ve walked that route. Very nice work.
