Davids Poem

So black is the night,
With stars so bright,
See the crescent moon,
Shine on the lagoon.

Night creatures howl,
As the eyes of the owl,
Follow me,
As I flit between the trees’.

Eyes glaring yellow,
I hear a bellow,
From the creatures,
With misshapen features.

I quickly hide
As the creatures glide,
Past me,
As they cannot see,

So black is the night,
With stars so bright,
See the crescent moon,
Shine on the lagoon.

Artist's Description

This was written when I was in my early 20’s for my then teenage brother David. He challenged me to come up with something on the spot and I wrote it for him. It’s extra special to me now as David passed away when he was 21. Its’ original title was “See the Crescent Moon”.
