"Be your own Voice"

“Be Your Own Voice”
By: Demaries Isom
& Randy Morgan

Demaries I.
People fear of being different
Thoughts of being ridiculed by peers
Make them play follow the leader
Their lives limited
Afraid to be their own person
Letting others voices overpower their conscious
They are puppets actions controlled by others
Scare to step out of the box
Rather walk in the shadows
Don’t want to step foot into the light
Not aware that those who choose to be different are the ones who make it
Those who choose to follow can continue to play sheep following little bo-peep
Letting others destroy their lives doing what ever it takes to stay in with the in crowd
Not thinking clearly letting their desire to be somebody make them look more like a nobody
They need to grow a backbone so they can stand tall and rise above the influence

Randy M.
If we all were the same
Nobody would be different
So everybody would be the same
But that isn’t so, why imitate
Follow in they’re footsteps, make your own footsteps
When you have to chance to be accepted
Then you weren’t accepted from the start
Think before you make a decision to let someone think for you
If that’s the case why have a mind of your own
God gave you common sense you know right from wrong
So why make someone feel right by doing their wrong for them
When looking in the mirror who do you see
If that person’s unrecognizable
Then you need to become one with yourself and make a change
That little light inside of you is flickering off and on
Attempt to remember when that light shine bright enough to illuminate the world
Push as hard as you can to be the person you once were
No one lives forever
Doesn’t everyone wanna be remembered by someone
Those who are satisfied with being unfit to fit
Won’t ever really fit in anywhere

Your only supposed to join the masses if you want to go to war,
Why would i join the fight when all i will do is regret.
Leading is more than being first…its an advantage.
Doing me and not living by imitating the crowd is a benifit all the around.
It makes me wonder how groups can get so big!
