Artist's Description

Wapitis Elk, Parc Oméga, Montebello, Québèc, Canada, December 28, 2013

They are recognizable by the adult male’s large antlers and by the dark red-brown color of the head, neck and chest, the rest of the body being lighter. They are good swimmers and runners. In the park, the elks will gladly approach the vehicles in search of carrots. They are the great North American deer. They are the world’s second largest deer

Nikon D90-Nikkor-18-200mm lens, f/5.6, exposure time 1/125 sec,
ISO – 200, focal length 22mm, max aperture 2.8 and no flash
