Cindy and I went to the Alabama Jubilee, an annual hot-air balloon event held at the Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama. Pictured is silhouette of a group of children and a parent peering through the balloon.

Welcome, my name is Phillip, and I’d like to thank you for visiting my gallery. I live in Birmingham, Alabama, which is located in the southeast region of the United States.

Several years ago I rediscovered my long lost passion, and entered the much cleaner digital world of photography. I enjoy photographing nature, landscapes, and historical subjects.

This image really has an impact on the eye and mind…. such an imaginative capture. The human shadows filtering though a veil within energetic colours, yet untouchable… the black lines and curves give it dimension and space… Being a bit deep, but my frame of mind at present sees and feels a reflection of the afterlife… I really love it Phillip!

  • Wow Suzie. Thank you for the wonderful comment. I really like this one too. I might even have to hang this on my own wall.
Sometimes you see an image opportunity and just know that it’s going to be very special. If you only come away with one shot this is going to be the one that you don’t want to miss. No pressure, but here it is. For the sports photographer it that winning score. The opportunity usually comes sometime later in the trip, this time it came with the first balloon that they set up.

Excellent shot, so eye catching and the silhouettes are perfect. Were you standing inside the balloon?

  • Thanks Tracy. No I was standing outside the the bottom opening while they blowing it up.

  • Thank you Mike, I can see that. You can almost hear what the little kids might be saying.
