So Much Power...

Paul Manning

Rainbow Bay, Australia

Artist's Description

A low pressure system has been sitting sat off the Queensland coast since Tuesday 19 May ~ the system produced torrential rain that flooded many areas of SE QLD and Northern NSW, devastating winds and smashing surf to the extent that at Snapper Rocks from Friday morning to late Sunday afternoon there was no-one in the water ~ on our favorite walk around Snapper Rocks the boulders that form part of the breakwall had been tossed around like pebbles ~ the beach erosion is like nothing I’ve seen is incredible ~ perhaps once in a lifetime!

This image was taken in teeming rain through the car windscreen on Saturday 23 May at Snapper Rocks (Canon 5D Mark II, 70 – 200mm)

I’ve added a collection of images to my website www.perfectwavegallery.com taken between the morning of 22 May and the afternoon of 24 May – it was a spectacular display of the power of the elements!
