My father, slightly startled.
portrait elderly father dad retirement surprised startled
He looks more like fit in “Christmas Carol”,lol, glad to know he is number4.
Hi Tokiko, great to read your response, as it always it. Almost as great as looking at your pictures.
What a gorgeous portrait, Peter !!!I can ‘read’ his life story in his eyes, on his face. Great use of the negative space too.I hope your dad is still doing well, this photo is so intense, so touching.
Thanks so much. Yes, this negative space is about as negative as space can get. I started darkening it then ended up blackening it completely. My father is doing well, more or less, given his various ailments, and I do appreciate your concern.
Excellent work, Peter. What startled dad?
Don’t recall what startled him. He might have just been vogueing.
What a beautiful portrait, lovely expression on his face; an honor to your father !
And I’m honored by your comment. Thanks again, Anna.
spectacular…and timeless. great capture (hope he wasn’t startled too much!)
He never stays startled for long. I thank you heartily for your note. I’ve taken a quick look at your gallery – simply wonderful images – and I will return for a longer look.
I am very grateful for your response. Thank you so much.
So dramatic and amazing, it could be out of a play — Shakespeare, maybe. The face invites staring. Normally I would not. But it is so detailed and perfect, I want to see every wrinkle and freckle of age, wisdom, folly, and life.
Brilliant portrait! xoxox
I’m really gratified by your looking and writing and I thank you for both.
Great portrait, Tony
I so much appreciate your attention and your comment. Thanks.
And no words sufficient to thank you for your comment! Wait, that’s not true, I can simply and sincerely say Thanks.
