Tribute to Mr. Junior Seau by

Tiaina Baul “Junior” Seau, Jr. ( January 19, 1969 – May 2, 2012)(Nickname: “Tasmanian Devil”) was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) who transcended American football to become a San Diego sports icon. Known for his passionate playing style, he was a 10-time All-Pro, 12-time Pro Bowl selection, and named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team.

Of Samoan descent, Seau played college football at the University of Southern California. He was taken by the San Diego Chargers as the fifth overall pick of the 1990 NFL Draft. Seau starred for 13 seasons for the Chargers before being traded to the Miami Dolphins, where he spent two before three final ones with the New England Patriots.

Coach Bill Belichick Quote: "Of all the players I have coached, nobody was more full of energy and vitality than Junior Seau. He respected and inspired every single person he came in contact with… He was a charismatic icon. At the same time, as a human being he was as caring, warm and lovable as they come. That’s what I will miss most of all.
