"There You Are......"

lol. it’s actually from a reoccurring nightmare i had when i was a child. i’ve attempted to sketch it many times,so i thought i’d try it digitally.

well Bridgett, this work has certainly elicited a lot of commentry! and no wonder. its a truly scary image. It is SO Mervyn Peake- I don’t mean his style of drawing, as he did draw quite a bit, but the image, for me, is absolutely one of the 2x Aunties locked deep within the castle until they rotted away; I think its the 2nd volume of the Titus Groan trilogy. have you read it? if not, you will adore it, I just know.

I don’t know what to say about this image, other than that I like it a lot.

oh! this is terrifying, funny, and strangely creepy too. I had nightmares a lot as a child, and I still do. They’re always so vivid and frightening, but pinning them down in the light of day is so, so difficult. You captured such an emotive atmosphere, as always. Well done Bridgett
