Original watercolour of William Street, Launceston, Tasmania. It was done on Saunders Waterford 300 gsm rough paper. I used minimal colours; burnt sienna, brown madder, ultramarine to create a feeling of monotone and therefore an ‘old’ feel. The figures, too, look like something out of the Depression times. I was inspired to re-create the history of the place. This painting has been featured in ‘Art with Meaning’, ‘Oz Talent’, ‘Art Universe’, ‘Painters Academics’ & ‘Moody & Evocative’ and has just been included in Future Masters Redbubble Blog! It now has had 1640 views.
