On Saunders Waterford watercolour paper 300 gsm rough – 15″ × 11″. I use this weight paper because the paint flows beautifully over it, but it is also heavy enough to allow ‘scratching out’ of tree trunks. The rough texture allows for sparkles on the water if the paint is applied quickly enough.
Original watercolour of one of the beautiful scenic waterways in Tasmania. Arthurs Lake is a highland lake and has cold and clear water making for beautiful deep reflective colours. Magic.
rocks, lake, landscape, fishing, australia, nature, tasmania, reflections, angler, fly fishing
From watercolour to mixed media – to create is magic!

Really love the composition of this painting with the prominent rocks in the foreground, leading your eye into the softness of the water and bushland. Beautiful work Pauline.

Thank you Jo-anne. Water is one of my favourite subjects. Perhaps because I spend so much time on it.
