Senior Portrait Sesson II by PJS15204

This is my 1st attempt at serious portrait photography as you all know I shoot nature mostly. My nieces asked me to shoot their Senior pics . I was flattered but petrified to take on this big responsibility but they made the session very fun and enjoyable . Please tell me how I did.The girls told me they liked them but in the end they must choose only one to give their classmates at the end of the year.
One done so well with her studies that she will graduate a year early they both will attend college next year.
Taken in Corolla NC with the Nikon D-90 and the 50mm1.4 nikkor prime lens

This Pittsburgh Pa native has been around, led by a strong urge to go he had an very adventurous childhood before entering the armed forces in 1982 Where his travels reached the world wide level .Always fascinated with photography the people around him would speak aloud and say how much they enjoyed his pictures .
So the child who loved to get around would eventually drive big rigs for a living .But a on the job injury and following surgery has nudged him into photography full time these days.

Excellent picture, Paul! Subject might be a little lighter, but I think that’s probably RedBubble rather than you. I notice that pictures posted do lose brightness. Otherwise, just terrific!

  • I agree with you David RB is noticeably darker than what I posted but luckily not enough to ruin the shot thanks for verifying this and thanks for commenting :)

Nice framing & light, you might want to crop off the left and right sides (they do not add anything) and maybe add more of her body to make the composition less central and balance the light space above her head).
Yes, I really like the light, you have found quite an attractive location :)

  • Being a landscape guy I tried to shoot in a place that they will remember but still making sure that they are the subject . My inexperience will show in the eyes of a pro thanks for taking the time to give me some pointers Thanks Lenka :)
