A4 size coffee and ink on rough Fabriano 300gsm watercolour paper
My first commission for the new year!
I’ve never done a commission in coffee before, but it seems to work well with old scenes.
This is a painting of my client’s Great Grandmother. Reference photo was an old black and white photo from around 1925. I loved the photo as soon as I saw it, so I’m really pleased to have been able to create this :)

It’s funny how watercolours scare the life out of me yet I’m quite ok with attempting something in coffee lol! Doing a colour version of this in acrylic next so a bit more imagination will be required as the reference photo is an old black and white one :)
