Blueberries by Dianne Ilka

A4 size watercolour on Arches 300gsm watercolour paper

Inspired by a photo of blueberries from my garden. Yum yum!

My first ever pure watercolour! I have resisted the urge to add pastels or watercolour pencils to this one lol!

I’ve been inspired recently by Ann Mortimer’s watercolour blog so decided to work up the courage and give it a try. Although it is no where near the standard of Ann’s amazing work, I’m pretty happy with the result.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww how delightful a watercolor …. Beautiful skill and composition dear Dianne …. Gotta be "My pick of Day "watercolor medium work ….. Sigh !… Paulx

  • Once again Paul you have made my day with such a wonderful comment. I’m still getting my head around the idea of working from light to dark lol! I’m still pretty bad at losing all of my light areas.

Awesome watercolor of a difficult subject. (at least for me) :)

  • Thanks Angie! We adore blueberries in our house so I really wanted to try painting them. I’m very inexperienced with watercolours so I’m actually quite surprised that they turned out as well as they did lol!
