8″ × 10″ coffee, salt & pen on tea background

I have been inspired by Elizabeth Kendall’s wonderful trees so I have decided to have a go myself. Instead of using watercolours I have experimented again with coffee.

Framed original is available for sale. Please bubblemail me for details.

This is wonderful Dianne! Love where the coffee has darkened, giving some wonderful contrast to the painting! Pity that beautiful sheen doesn’t show up on the scan…

  • Thanks, Maree. As with most coffee paintings it really looks better in real life. I have it framed with a black matt around it and it looks great.

yes, it’s an amazing technique, isn’t it! After seeing Liz’s trees and now yours, I definitely want to try it, too. I’ve never painted trees but have been wanting to for several years. I have a diptych of impressionistic trees on my wall which are a bit intimidating though …

  • You really should try Liz’s method. So much fun and surprisingly easy!

I will :-)) I suppose if you let it run to the middle and then blowdry it in an erratic manner you’d get great branches too … I’ve been a bit tied up in this (which Liz is taking part in too) lately so I haven’t gotten around to much else :-) You’d be more than welcome, too!

Love these trees Dianne…. Looks like you had fun doing it!!!!

  • Thankyou Debbie. I have been doing a lot of different stuff lately. Just experimenting really. Most of this new work takes a lot less time to do.
