All in One Basket is a top 10 nominee in Painter’s Universe, Easter Traditions challenge.

All in One Basket is a top 10 nominee in the Live, Love, Dream “Our Charity for 2011” challenge: Covenant House Vancouver. Helping human beings to have a safe and strong start in life is extremely important to me. I chose this image to represent my nomination because the nest represents a safe place and the eggs represent the potential of life.

“Covenant House Vancouver exists for those young people for whom there is often no one else – young people who have either willingly fled physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse or those who have been forced from their homes.

We understand that life changes are challenging and do everything in our power to ensure that young people succeed at whatever plan they have chosen for themselves. As long as genuine effort is demonstrated, so is our commitment."

An egg of such size would make a meal for 4 in the Pixie-Atelier. I painted this with acrylics while out in my garden on a sunny and warm summer day. For every pixie nested eggs represent hope and the fragility of life. Does this image bring as much joy into your life as it does to the Pixie-Atelier? Please feel welcome to sign in and leave a message for me.

wow…very impressive and gorgeous. reminds of the circle of life….a favorite. just read all the way through your piece and yes..a most lovely reminder of life, how fragile it can be and how miraculous it always is.

  • Sally! You are so wonderful to leave such lovely messages. I spent this afternoon in my garden harvesting tomatoes (summer arrived late and is just ending for us on the west coast), and then gobbling tomatoes for dinner. It made me think of something my scientist pixie partner keeps telling me: we are made of sunshine! And perhaps, that is the fragile miracle that we can honour by reflecting our own sunshine on others. Thank you for reflecting your sunshine on me!!!
