Ready

This is the last song I’ve written and I have made a vow not to write another one until I overcome my stage fright and can sing it out loud for everyone to hear. In person.

I’ve finally realized that the walls I’ve set up,
can be broken down.
Only by me.
I’ve felt the suffering of a broken heart,
so I know how it feels.
And when no one can see, I break down.

I have come to know myself,
and all I can do.
But no one sees & nobody knows.
I’ve been scared of what you think of me,
and never opened up.
But when no one can see, I break down.

I think I’m ready to show you what I can do.
I’ll sing my heart out and forget what you put me through.
The trembling, heart racing and the loss of breath.
My fears, they will be laid to rest.
I think I’m ready. I think I’m ready.

What’s the point in having an outlet,
when nobody can hear you,
only yourself.
I’ve kept it all inside of me so long.
Time is running out so I want you to see,
Me break down.

I think I’m ready to show you what I can do.
I’ll sing my heart out and forget what you put me through.
The trembling, heart racing and the loss of breath.
My fears, they will be laid to rest.
I think I’m ready. I think I’m ready.

This is all I’ve ever wanted.
All I’ve ever dreamed of.
To stand before you and pour my soul
out on the table for you to hold.

I’m breaking down…
I’m breaking down…
I think I’m ready to break down…

I think I’m ready to show you what I can do.
I’ll sing my heart out and forget what you put me through.
The trembling, heart racing and the loss of breath.
No more trembling, heart racing and no loss of breath.
My fears, they’ve all been laid to rest.
I think I’m ready. I think I’m ready.

I know I’m ready.
