Rebeca Pittman was born in Guatemala. She studied painting in New York, Paris and Florence. She obtained a degree in Fine Arts from Anderson University. Her art is collected by individuals and institutions in the United States, Latin America and Europe. She has a studio in Pendleton Art Center, the largest gathering of artists under one roof.
Her paintings are a reflection of her tropical land, as well as a determination to create original art with strong elements of composition and design. The style she calls Synthetic Realism, focuses on keeping a painting flat by recurring to color schemes and design ideas to create a dynamic new esthetic statement with each painting.
Her expressions vary from acrylic painting to digital, to mixed media…
• Digital Painting is a very personal form of expression, in which the artist uses modern media to create original art without conventional barriers. Rebeca paints directly on a computer with the aid of an extremely sensitive digitizing tablet.
• Digital Art is created from photos taken by the artist and converted into canvases where light and color interact.
• Acrylic on Canvas, Paper, and in combination with collage is Rebeca’s preferred medium of expression. It allows the images to convey a mood with the texture and intensity that only acrylic allows.
