Hello, my name is Rick a photo artist (or a “phartist” as one of my friends is fond of calling me) ..lol.., from a little town of 1200 souls in New York’s Southern Tier, called Nunda (pronounced Nunday).

I have been taking photos since 1969 and have lived all over the world (Turkey,Libya,Spain,Italy,UK,Viet Nam,Thailand) and visited about 30 countries and 40 out of the 50 States. I have a personal library of about 750,000 photos of which I’ve only worked on a fraction. So I have enough to keep me busy for the rest of my life, even though I continue to take about 15,000 photos a year.

I believe in God as our Creator and Jesus Christ, His Son, as the author of our salvation.

My passions are many and varied. Besides God, I am passionate about my wife, photography, flower gardening, music (I write songs and play guitar), and reading.

I believe that women are God’s second greatest gift to mankind, and I believe that beauty is best seen with the heart rather than eyes.

I have an excellent sense of humor, and patience is one my strongest virtues.

I lost my job in November 2008 so I’m working on my art full-time for now. I am also the pastor of Common Ground Christian Fellowship which I just recently founded.

I’ve been on RedBubble for a couple of months now and have made many new friends. You can’t have too many friends.

I try to keep things simple. I love bold, vibrant colors and contrast in light and composition. Not afraid to push the boundaries, so to speak, and am always striving to reach the “next” level, whatever that means. :)

That’s me. I welcome any questions or comments and am happy to share my experiences and knowledge. Much of my work is instinctual and by trial and error, so I don’t have a lot of technical expertise. I use a variety of software programs to produce my work and I don’t like Photoshop, though I own it. I prefer Paint Shop Pro XI and Microsoft’s Digital Image.

I am having a good March with over 20 features and a couple of Challenge wins, but I’m not here for that, though the affirmation is nice. Would rather make a new friend than to make a new Feature. I set my standards high in order to keep me from getting complacent. My work is good but I think it pales in comparison to some of the work I see here.
