Toddler Bowl

Here’s my boys down at the local Bowl.

Kane is three years old in this photograph.

This is how Kane experiences the thrill of a skate bowl while us parents can still keep our nerves in tact. His Daddy holds his hands and slowly builds momentum… swinging him back and forth like a pendulum (in the smaller entry part of the bowl). They pick up some pretty high speed as you can see by how close to the coping Kane is ( ;D Moose).

Kane has the time of his life.

    ps: rim = coping … :)

  • Pip Gerard replied

I sat there with the word coping on the tip of my tongue but couldn’t for the life of me bring it to the brain… so copped out and used rim. :D
He really is completely obsessed with skateboarding. He loves to pretend play skateboarding all the time. He uses the Jason Lee Blind handboad constantly to play around the house and he’s got an endless amount tech decks. Some kids are obsessed with bulldozers or cars.. Kane is truly obsessed with skateboarding. We were down at the beach the other day and he finds a plank of wood to create his own deck to do tricks down the sand dunes. Skateboarding is on his mind constantly… it’s quite amazing.
His Dad Luke though broke his wrist on the giant Frankston bowl just a month ago resulting in surgery for a plate and pins to be inserted. Brought up the sense of worry when it comes to Kane in the sport… but to have a passion is more important I believe.

Hey Pip! Wow! He’s a little thrill seeker, huh? That’s awesome! You may end up with totally frazzled nerves but he’s gonna be outta this world! Oh how I wished I had the courage to try this when I was younger it looks like soooo much fun! =)

  • Pip Gerard replied

yeah it is a bit of a worry but he’s already so passionate about it and I could never squash passion like that.
    Thanks Robbi :D
