After spending the previous two nights manically searching for a break in the clouds to no avail, we were close to giving up when the sky suddenly filled with swirling green lines. This was taken in the middle of a field north of Reykjavik at around midnight. We sat for hours in sub zero temperatures and arctic winds. It’s impossible to convey how breathtaking the northern lights are. You have to see it for yourself.
