This was taken at Urriðafoss, southern Iceland, which apparently translates to ‘the waterfall of the salmon.’ This beautiful waterfall is actually quite far from the typical tourist trail and rarely gets visitors, despite being so impressive. There is a huge amount of controversy in the local area as the construction of a Urriðafoss Power Plant is likely to go ahead soon – despite protests – which would essentially mean that the waterfall disappears.
