Towering walls of strength and power
Defend my confused heart
There is no gate, no latch, no key
These walls refuse to part
But something lurks outside the walls
A weight i cant shake free
Pulling, prodding, stretching me thin
Till whats left is barely me
And what once was one
Is now two, now three
And peering over my solid walls
The shadows are all i can see
Ill offer myself like a platter of food
To be passed around and shared
Snatching and tearing they’ll swallow me hole
Each just wanting to know that I cared.
