I found this little chapel in the Sfakia Region of Crete. It sits on a high cliff looking straight down to the little village of Loutro which can only be accessed by the sea. It was late October and no one was around, so I slept there surrounded by candles in clouds of incense.
The images by candlelight were extraordinary, glowing like golden stars in the night. I used the reflections of the candles in the glass as I thought they added to the poetic beauty. My loneliness was softened in the radiance of their presence.
