Where would we be without our stories – and the books in which they are written? As for storytelling- I can think of no one more suited as the model for humanity as “storytelling” beings than you are Holly. Sublime as always!
I’ve had the immense pleasure of listening to you recite prose, poetry and short stories. A memory I cherish and one day I hope I shall hear your nightingale voice again.
Multiple layers here – the book’s author as storyteller, the photographer taking this picture as storyteller, the woman reading the book performing in this picture as the story reader but also the teller of her own story, if only letting us see a small bit. And all the books on the shelves with their own stories to tell. This picture is worth a thousand words; but this picture doesn’t need a thousand words. It tells itself.
