The Wee Bird
Sad poem, but true. Continuing destruction of our forests worldwide is harming the Earth. The Birds and Animals need the trees for many things, the atmosphere needs the trees so the Earth can breathe. If the people continue destroying trees world wide it could result in another dust bowl, many many times worse than the dust bowl era from the 1930’s.
This poem popped in my head this morning, i wrote it down at work this afternoon
The Wee Bird belongs to the following groups:
Voices for AnimalsThere was a wee Bird
Sitting upon a little hill
She was a saddened wee Bird
All alone on that barren hill.
All the trees were gone
Hacked and hewn and killed
by the tree hunters
So the fancy people
Would have their regal homes of wood,
While the Birds and Animals would go homeless
No nests even to raise their young.
So the wee Bird
Huddled all alone on that barren hill,
No grass, only dirt.
And the wind came up,
No trees to block it’s blustery path
and the wee Bird was blown away

Thank you Jan. i wanted to make it happier, & i might have a sequel later, but many of these Animals & Birds really do suffer from the plight of their lost trees & land, and the awareness of this needs to reach people’s heartstrings
