i put your reply in the wrong box, hee hee. Gotta yet used to this new format. i copied & pasted my comment to you, :O))))) : Thank you much Jan. This is from a series i did from the book “An Imaginary Life” by David Malouf. In the group Fine Arts Influenced by Literature we read a book a month & do an illustration for the challenges. And its been a challenge, hee hee, keeping my brain active. i’m having a hard time with RB’s new format, it was easier b4, lol

Thank you Anita. It was a very interesting book, a factual & fictional story of Ovid. i’ve always been intrigued by children raised by Animals

ahh Pinky…... the perfection to detail that makes your work so incredibly unique…..you are gifted!!
(and yes, this new format leaves a lot to be desired)

The title certainly grabbed me. I love the deer. A “deer” boy is a brilliant idea. xo
pinkyjain replied
Thank you very much Lori. i’ve always been intriqued by children raised by Animals, & it was interesting how the author used Ovid in this book of factual & fiction
AngelArtiste
What a lucky child he was, to be raised by deer

Oh, it’s wonderful pinky!!!!! I must admit I chose An Imaginary Life partly because I felt you would enjoy it. It’s written in a very left-of-centre way but has such amazing emotional power. You’ve summed up that incredible sense of freedom the character has in this lovely drawing. Well done!
pinkyjain replied
Woooo, i’m so glad you tell me this, makes the book even more special. i have always been drawn to that special child who was chosen to be raised by an Animal (i hear of one instance where a boy is raised by Ostriches). And his dream of the Centaurs, amazing, one of my all time favorite dreams was of a Centaur like being. i’m hoping to maybe add it here someday, but it needs to be illustrated. i thank you again so much Paul
Karin Taylor

Thank you very much again Karin. It feels so good to be home, hee hee

A magical drawing. Love the scale of the chil next t the deer, and those horizontal strokes to make the trees – awesome – captures a sense of freedom and of spirit.
pinkyjain replied
Thank you much John. i’m so glad you like the trees, too, i am very lazy when it comes to landscapes, i can do details to a tee, like in a house, but when it comes to the outdoors, i get impatient, or something, i think maybe because there is just soooo much to the outside world
John Douglas
yes there is so much – but I think the lack of detail you do with landscape enhances the qualities – one thing I love about your art so much – you get right to the essence.
