The Boy Who Had So Many Faces He Was Never Lonely
i saw a painting at work, about an old Guinean proverb, something like if you don’t take care of your garden, you will starve. The man is kneeling & holding a basket out for food, & on his legs are African masks. Its a lovely painting. And so my drawing was born. No probverb, just a happy fellow who will never be lonely

intriguing pinky…what were you thinking….it has a deep sort of perspective….the boy who had so many faces he was never lonely.. would make such a great tale for children….and it has some message in it as well I think….(i’d like to know what the message is too :D)

Thank you Lori. i got the idea from a painting from work, from an African proverb, something like if you don’t take care of your garden, you will starve. Ann the man is kneeling, holding out an empty basket, and on his legs are African masks. my drawing has no proverb, just a happy boy with many friends

Hee hee, thank you Jan. The idea came from a ancient Guinea proverb (i mistakenly thought it was African), about something like if you don’t take care of your garden, you will starve, and the beautiful painting is of a man kneeling & holding out an empty basket. On his legs are these carved African masks. They have this painting at work and i was examining it closer when i was there on Wednesday

Thank you again so very much Karin. i need to gather all my art together & start writing, poems & stories. Try to publish them at lulu.com. i need to learn to use my time better, sometimes it feels so overwhelming. All these ideas & it hard to find time to put them into something concrete.

Thank you Mui-Ling. Would be difficult, i think, even though they look compatible, we all need our space. Would be interesting to think upon & create a story from this
pinkyjain in reply to Paul Compton’s comment, 2 months ago
Thank you so much Paul, :O)))) Another piece for a poem, or a story. Wish words would flow like my doodles, do. There is this practice for writers, called “Nonstop” where you just write down whatever comes into your head. i should try this again

How do you keep coming up with all these unique images and titles, Pinky?... You should have a kids TV show… your stuff is just endlessly amusing and would really teach children to let their imaginations run willy-nilly and also teach them to respect all the little creatures that you love so…
