The Prisoner Gives In And Says He'll Wait Til The Morning To Leave

Original in 2b pencil, sepia added. i know the hands are a bit too small, hee hee, but i liked the effect.
The prisoner knows his end is near, and he knows the Vampire lies & will not let him leave tomorrow either, so he hatches a plan of his own & will act tomorrow while the Vampire sleeps

If I had to pick an all-time favourite pinkyjain work it would probably be this one. The original pencil sketch is in my favourites and now the sepia version is in my favourites. You rock my world pinkyjain, love the handwritten text in this one as well : ))))))))))))))))))

  • pinkyjain replied

Thank you again & again so very much Paul. i used the handwritten script on many of the pieces since he is keeping a hand written journal & i used specific passages. Thank you so very much again Paul, :O))))

This is one of my favourites of yours, too, pinkyjain. I think the small hands work nicely in this style.

I am with Paul – if i had to choose one favourite this is it. The hand-written text is a treat, in an age of generic computer fonts and adds to the atmosphere, this is a great part of the series and works very nicely on its own too, LOVE IT!

  • pinkyjain replied

Thank you so much John, for your comment & purchase, :O)))))

I really like this drawing. His hands might indeed be too small if you want them to be anatomically correct, but I don’t think they have to be for illustrations. They work really well in the overall drawing and make it look even more special.
I also love the sepia colour you have here, as well as the overall mood and expression the drawing brings. Really great work! =D

  • pinkyjain replied

Thank you so very much Ine. The small hands seem to work for some weird reason, hee hee

I’m glad Paul brought attention to this work pinkyjain, and his comments really help me get more out of this; I love the narrative and the emotive charm. The prisoner is full of grief covering his eyes, yet he’ll still be naive with a bit of hope of planning a scheme; and the sepia helps bring that out.

  • pinkyjain replied

Thank you so very much Mui-Leng. This has been a long work in progress, i think i first started it in 1991. i think Paul & Angela (AngelArtist) are my biggest fans of the Vampire Series, so i am trying hard to get some new drawings done for this & hope to finish it someday. So glad you liked this, thank you again, :O))))))

think this is my all time fav ‘pinkie’ too… have to agree with paulie

I am currently reading the complete lyrics of nick cave – this maybe why such a morose image holds so much appeal at this time

  • pinkyjain replied

Thank you so much ellejayerose. So sorry for such a late response, lol, its been a weird July & i can’t seem to keep up. i will have to check out nick cave
