I had a couple of hairy moments doing my night crawling tonight… couple of guys followed me around Flinders St Station giving me that look where you know you need to play smart. First time on my night wanderings I have felt wary, I played it cool and stuck to the well lit areas. Predators whether it be animal or human prey on fear and the weak so it’s important to portray strength, appear fearless but not arrogant. Confidence is scary as it leaves one wondering why! It was a lesson to me and should be to other photographers, male or female, be careful! Don’t expose your camera gear unless your actually taking the shot and wear street clothes and a cap, they tend to leave thier own alone so try to blend in, play safe xox

girl you worry me! Be careful out there!!!! please bring someone else with you…I know that I would love to take night shot in downtown but cant because it’s not safe and no one will go with me LOL….another ace shot!

  • I am careful babe! I’m not going to let the fear of “what if” stop me from doing what I love though I’m not behaving stupid either xox

Thank god you are okay. This gave me chills, dear girl. Stay safe, hmm? xox

  • I’m fine, I think I forget sometimes where I am and what time it is and get lost in the photo taking! I just need to be a bit more sensible =)

Wonderful image Nic, the higher the risk the greater the shot it seems. But yeah you have got to have your 6th sense turned to max at night. Black Ops are dangerous ;)

  • lol! in all seriousness Pete I’ve never had a scare doing night photography but that night there were 2 individual guys at the train station that made the hair stand up on my neck! 1 kept walking around me and the other one just stared at me, bizarre!

I so love the lighting in this Nicolette and b&w looks stunning and they way you have the figures blurred gives it motion and mystery, really very beautiful and thanks for the advice when taking piccies at night, all I have to worry about here is if I’m going to be attacked my a possum or a wallaby lol….. :o)x

  • oh that made me giggle! I grew up in the bush so I do know that night time can be just as scary there, with growling koala’s and kangaroos wandering about! thank you =)
