Beautiful capture Nic, your eye for composition never fails, I love the tones on the models body reflected in the stolen light from the ‘window’, awesome work my talented friend

  • Nicolette Thain replied

aww thank you Jus, I really love your comments hun. The light in the jail cells was really difficult but when it worked it was awesome. So many shots didn’t work but got lucky with this one. We had to hurry too because the jail was open to the public and we didn’t ask permission to use it so we had to deal with people watching and the risk of getting caught and told off! lol… Matt did an amazing job considering all that :)

    The light is sublime!!
I love your use of B&W and light (in all your work) – my fav of the series!

  • Nicolette Thain replied

the light was gorgeous Vik but like I said to Jus in the comment above we really had our work cut out for this on this shoot. In addition to the above I broke a filter, cut my arm and we paid $20 each to get into the prison so we really earned what shots we got!

That’s not like you to not ask permission Nic lol. You did a brilliant job in the limited time you had, really quite extraordinary. And I know what you mean by the light in jail cells, I once did a conservation/renovation job on the Fremantle Prison and getting any decent pics was so difficult, I might have a dig around and post some (maybe if you’re in Perth one day you can shoot naked boys here too :)))

  • Nicolette Thain replied

hehehehehehe why waste time asking when you could be shooting! You definately should dig those up, I wanna see them!!!

OOOOHH, Love it Nicolette, the light and contrast is quite striking.
It has the feeling that his waiting for his time to come, the bright light shining out of the window looks promising, but somehow to him, it feels like another day on his calender!! was great to be part of this process :)

  • Nicolette Thain replied

it was great having you be a part of the process… it’s quite amazing hey seeing the end product when you get to experience the shot being created. Your welcome anytime on a shoot though I may have to put my foot down about the crunchies! I prefer snickers so please make sure you take note!!! lol
