Situated at the mouth of the River Otter, Budleigh Salterton’s sheltered location has made it popular since Roman times. Its famous bun-like pebbles, or cobbles, were swept ashore by ancient rivers. A walk up the sandstone cliffs gives outstanding views of Budleigh and across Lyme Bay and will lead you to Sandy Bay and Exmouth.
