Once the meeting place of the small hamlet of Phillipsport, New York, Sullivan County, USA. It was here the children attended school in the building in the forefront, now the Community Center, and folks attended church service in the church just beyond the school.
This school, circa 1873, was known as District No 16 school in the town of Mamakating, and became district No 2 in 1950 when it became part of Ellenville NY School district. The Teacher for this school was Robert Hall in 1912. The school was sold to the Phillipsport Community Center in 1956 for $11.00. The church is The Phillipsport United Methodist Church, built in 1819, one of the oldest churches in the town of Mamakating, Sullivan County, New York, USA.
