PAINTERS IN MODERN TIMES – WHAT’S NEW

23rd of February, 2011

For years now PiMT has been one of the major groups showcasing the works of fine arists which work in this medium. The hosts here at Painters have had much pleasure in promoting your work, providing information and running regular challenges to compete in.

Unfortunately recently we have had to say goodbye to fellow host and great friend Kafka as he has moved on.

Now I reflect back on this group which has grown in number to over 3500 people. Despite this I feel that this increase in number of members does not reflect the activity in this group.

Each week I will publish a newsletter which I estimate will only be read by, at best, 5% of members.
Challenges are not being participated in like they used to be. Voting is down leading to many ties.

All our lives our busy and I am finding it hard to justify the time I spend here on redbubble.

It is for this reason I will be scaling down the challenges in this group.

The newsletter may become less frequent and the featured artist articles will stop.

I am sorry because it effects those members who truly love interacting in this group.
I also understand that with so many groups available here on redbubble that members time is split quite significantly.

I am quite willing to listen to feedback as we have always maintained that this is your group.

Marilyn

This group has some of the truly best art on RB and it’s run so well. Please keep up the great job in whatever capacity you feel comfortable with, Marilyn. Your time and effort is so greatly appreciated. And congrats to all for such beautiful work that’s such a pleasure to view!

I am Anna Lewis a a newby to Red Bubble and this group, as I just started uploading my work , and look forward to participating as a member.
I only just began painting in Sept of 2010 at La Jolla Braille Intitute, when I decided to open my horizens and do things I thought I couldn’t do. And found out I love painting ,but since I am new and only painted ceramics as a kid , I have alot of catching up to do to look as professional as you all appear.
I am legally blind , have low vision in oly one eye , the other is totally blind from Macular problems that took my sight suddenly in the middle of the night in 2005. But none of my disablities will stop me from painting now that I am hooked.
