Solve the Puzzle of the Missing Painting

Those of you already watching (or joining in) kafka’s screenplay thread might have noticed that there are some references to famous artists, paintings and literary works – there’s a reason for this (as there usually is with k!)

There are more than just some references, there are a load of them hidden in TT and Snowy’s dialogue – some of them are fairly obvious…..but some of them are fiendishly hidden in codes, anagrams and asides – all you have to do to win the competition is find as many of them as you can and name them. (If you think you have found one, try and name both the artist and the painting, or, if the answer is a book or poem, the author and the title. begin at the start of the thread and write the answers in the sequence that you find them).

But! – and this is the important bit! – to enter the competition you MUST make at least one post in the thread and try and introduce a new character or clue to help TT and Snowy solve the mystery of the missing painting.

When the thread finishes (in a few weeks time) everyone who has contributed to the story by posting in the thread will be able to post their answers in a specially set up moderated thread that can only be seen by the group hosts – after they have been checked the winner will be announced.

Art Exhibition, “Jazz in the Air” by Midori Furze

Midori’s solo exhibition.
Midori loves music and she often translates her love of music into art. On her canvases she paints her dreams and people, as well as concepts of love and music. She is very excited to be offered to have her exhibition in the library. The library is located right next to the outdoor stages in corso.
(Manly International Jazz Festival is the longest running of its kind in Australia and in continuing its fantastic reputation.)

Karyn Fendley’s solo exhibition of mixed media landscape paintings, “Remnant Wilderness” questions how humans have upset the ecological balance of their environment. The artworks are inspired by the vulnerable area where the artist has been living and working, in the rain-forest bordering Mt. Jerusalem National Park in Northern NSW.

The Outsiders group has been born from Sarah McCarthy and Stefan Maguran’s desire to promote art produced by people with no formal training in the arts and organise an Outsiders Festival in their home town, Adelaide, Australia..

It has been used initially, following intense consultation and help from Redbubble, as a platform to feature work from people that wish to take part in the Outsiders Festival –
1-30 November 2009 in Adelaide.
In the mean time, having more than 400 members and thousands of works, the group includes anyone that feels adventurous enough to accept to be called an Outsider.
