Morning Prayer

My clothes fall from me, unneeded
Slowly I lose the house my money built
Careers and dreams blow off as dust
Hope and fear, two sides of the same coin,
Are recognised and discarded
Family, friends are shrugged off also
And self itself is understood and forgotten
I, not I, at last may watch without distraction.

As usual the beauty and earnest nature of your soul shines through. Reminds me slightly of a work I once wrote “I Baptized Myself Today” detailing poetically how I cleansed myself of those sins, weights, worries, and materials I felt upon my body each day – I must say however that the way you have written the similar sentiment is more pointed and easier use in showing people a new way to be free, or at least that it is possible for us all to become weightless and floating, should only be found our own personal methods. When you give my friend, you give unilaterally and plentifully.

This blessed state is not simple to achieve, but oh so rewarding when we do. Beautifully described.

Well stated. Now you are ready to fly. I like the way you pared it all down to simplicity.

As I grow older and older with each glance in the freekin mirror, I’ve found that each year, hell, each day, I am jettisoning overboard more and more extraneous bullshit. My hope is that I’ll eventually get to the real authentic core of me eventually, and yes, I am enjoying the ride also.

Many thanks and may the force be with you!
