Perspective

This came complete to me as a single verse as I walked the dogs up to the stables at the end of a long day.

Perspective belongs to the following groups:

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical

My soul rests gently
In the cradle of the universe

I measure my successes
and my failures
Against an infinity of time
and space

And I can neither
See nor count them.

love this pilgrim. You are a true philosopher – awake in the moments and able to stand back, reflect and record them as, “the Watcher”

Such a great feeling not looking for our success in the before nor after.. all falling away each second..just succeeding in approaching this moment as the gauge (such success in feeling good!) .. incredible piece!

Part of this is true to me. However, I shall measure my successes and my failures pertaining to myself as a human being, the family I create and the legacy I leave behind, in the temporal world.

Yes we must always walk with a foot in both camps. It is dangerous to lose sight of the reality of the world around us and ourselves

This made me smile, Pilgrim. It has a humbling sense of scale… but doesn’t get lost in it (if you get what I mean…?)

  • Pilgrimworks here replied

Yes, I do. When we are feeling strong and gentle the universe in its vastness can seem like a loving friend.

Well done, Pilgrim. Our time here is weighted only by our own interpretation. Beautifully stated. Irene
