RedBubble Pugalier Fan Club

Now that RB is so HUGE we have enough members to start the RB pugalier fan club. So here’s to
- Me wih Errol and Flynn

Barbie with her gorgeous friend

And the third member is our own Justin and his charge Gus

Some may think it is a bit weird that RB already has at least three pugalier carers (they do need a lot of care as they are afraid of a lot of things). I think it just goes to show how creative pugalier owners are.

At the risk of sounding igonrant, am I right in assuming that what you’re talking about is a Pug/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel hybrid kind of thing. I love the Pugs, but I have never heard of Pugaliers.

Yep, pugalier is pug crossed with Cavalier King Charles. Both the originals are great and the cross is to (has the hair of the pug and the the less squashy face of the CKC). They are ferocious when cornered …

Yay, finally recognition for this wonderful cross-breed! I remember seeing Pugaliers on Burkes Backyard years ago, and thinking how cute they were and what a good cross it was – improving the pug’s breathing while keeping the friendly qualities of both breeds … We had, and still have chihuahuas, who are feisty as heck and I love them dearly …. but one day we were shopping and hubby said, quick, come look – pugalier puppies in the petshop! I said, we have 3 dogs, don’t need another …. but went for a look anyway. That was my downfall, I fell in love, and had to have the big brown eyed, squashy faced little bundle. His name is Pugsley (what else) and truly he is a wonderful dog. He sleeps in our bed (great foot warmer), snores like a train, goes everywhere with me (including the bathroom) and loves everyone. A real character and I highly recommend the breed. And I’m happy to see other Pugaliers and their people – it’s funny the pugaliers are so similar they could be from the same family …. and probably are!!!

I am the very proud carer of the puppy pugalier above called Gus. Although, this is actually a picture of his sister, Meg (a mother can tell these things). They are the most delightful little creatures – I can’t remember life without them.
I will nag Justin for a more recent photo to share with you all.
And Barbie – I have never heard anything like the snoring that comes from Gus. More like a tractor than a train though.

I want to thank you for commenting on my pages. I’m glad my picture made you laugh. After reading what you said it made me feel good for you. I’m really sorry about your daughter. Getting her hopes up on something then not being able to do it is really a big let down. Then her having to deal with why she couldn’t go I imagine was heart breaking for her. You are a good dad and just saying a few words I know you love her very much. Thank you for buying my pictures. Actually I want something to do that’s why I put my pictures up.

My friend Doris, has a pug named Maggie now she is funny and loves when I come for a visit. She spends most of her time on my lap. Doris can’t get over how Maggie likes me so much. The funny thing is she doesn’t act that way with anyone else that comes to visit.

I have a little dog that is boston terrier/poodle mix. She (Sassy) took after the boston then she did the poodle. She has a face like a boston which reminds me of a pug.

I am happy to meet you and I can be silly at times. The key is to enjoy myself as much as I can. I am sure I will make you laugh a lot more. lol

Hi all :) We became pugalier parents in June 08. His name is Napoleon and yes it does suit him! We didn’t mean to, but our other dog is Coco, so a bit of a French theme started happening and yes he does like snails – he brings them inside to share. I did a bit of research online after we got Napoleon about size, personality etc. One site said he should be 8 – 10kg and 32cm high at the shoulder when full grown, delicate inside dog, doesn’t need regular walks, happy around the house. Ha! He is 7 months old, weighs 17kg and is 43cm high, loves playing outside, digging holes, playing in mud, a real grotty little boy. He is also a social butterfly – he still thinks the only reason that people go to the dog park is to see him! Fantastic breed, wouldn’t trade him for the world :)

How wonderful to find a site where we can love the Pugalier instead of critisizing him/her for being a crossbreed. I have tired to research the Pugalier and all I got was negativity on crossing the two breeds. I am also the owner of 2 fullbred pugs and did not buy them just because they are a recognized breed. I bought them because they are a very loveable dog and extremely good companions. Our Pugalier Charlie was bought just because he was so adorable:)) I love my dogs because they are wonderful little creatures, not because of their bloodline. I did find a few positive notes while researching before we got Charlie, and I just dont see how you could go wrong crossing these two good natured, beautiful breeds. As for health issues, yes they both have them, but you face that wether you have a full or a cross. I am thinking one thing for sure has been eliminated from this cross breed, at least in Charlies case, and that is the breathing problems of the pug. My pugs in particular my female have breathing issues, she has breathing attacks, known as a reverse sneeze, and you would swear she was dying! Scared the hell out of me the first time it happened, and also they snore like old men! Charlie on the other hand has a slightly longer snout, thanks to the CKC and does not seem to suffer from any breathing problems. Anyways great to find a group of Pugalier owners, now I can love my dog, and its acceptable:)))

how big was everyone’s pugalier at 14 weeks? Gizmo my male puppy has just weighed in at 6.3kg. I’m thinking I’m going to have a big boy on my hands!
