Yes, not sure I would be riding one. They have a cross on their backs which they call the Jesus Cross as it is seen as a reminder of their sacred status of carrying Him into Jerusalem. They have such gorgeous faces.
Ahh…the beast of burden, you’ve really captured this element, they are so badly treated, alot of emotion in this photo because of the way you have it floating in an isolated space..love it thanks, thanks also for your comments on my work…
So inviting. I’ve read about the bedouin & desert nomads most of my life and have an unhealthy fascination with their lifestyles. (Must be the Indian in me.) That’s why I find this so inviting. Wonderful shot. :)

what a delightful capture ~ the precious donkey isn’t it true that Christ rode on a donkey when he entered the ancient and Holy city of Jerusalem
the donkey appears to have his ears notched, is this a form of branding? what an amazing landscape !!
he/she is a beautiful donkey, sadly the working donkeys often have a hard life but it doesn’t always mean they are not cared for – for their size remember they are incredibly strong, weight to size they are stronger than horses!
It is a desolate beauty, there is not a patch of green to be seen. This type of environment must be incredibly intimidating. I would not wish to be far from water. What happened to the darling Donkey’s ears?

He’s cute. Don’t think I could get on his back, I’d be more likely to walk beside him and carry his load for him!
