TWICE TIMES ... or On Training Two New Afghan Puppies .... with apologies to A.A. Milne

Skit on a poem by AA Milne …. ’’When We Were Very Young’’ and ’’Now We Are Six’‘

the inventor of ’’Christopher Robin’‘

There were two little Affs at Lingardswood
And one of them was bad while the other was good
Good Af learnt his show stance well
But Bad Af learned to dance like …

They lived in a kennel when the weather was hot
And one of them was good but the other was not
Good Af gaited swift and true
But Bad Af’s legs went two by two

They lived in a house when the weather was cold
And they did and they didn’t do what they were told
Good Af held his head up high
But Bad Af thought he would like to fly

They lived all the time with a patient old hound
Who taught them that feet should be kept on the ground
Good Af learned to please the Judge
But Bad Af said he wouldn’t budge

But then quite suddenly … just like us
One got better as the other got wuss
Good Afs body went into a spin
But Bad Af said he was going to win

Good Af tangled his legs on the run
But Bad Af showed how it ought to be done
Good Af thought he would stand on his head
But Bad Afs rosette was wonderfll’y red

There may be a moral though some say not
I think there’s a moral though I don’t know what
But if one get’s better as the other gets wuss
These two little Affs are just like us
For Jane’s learned the Standard for our wonderful breed
But I keep forgetting where I’ve put the show lead!
