The view from the top of the Loup of Fintry. This waterfall, easily missed when driving past on the road, totals a 94’ drop of which this is just the first of four stages.
This photo is a technical tour-de-force: a total of 15 shots were combined using portrait-oriented HDRs (3-deep, rendered with qtpfsgui) into a panorama (5-wide, stitched with hugin), all taken using multiple ND filters in order to slow the exposure and maximize depth of field. Since then it’s also been tweaked around in Photoshop with localized dodge/burning, Orton effect and high-pass filtering for sharpness and contrast.
