I got 2008 off to a good start – the first weekend in January, took the funicular railway up Cairn Gorm to the `Ptarmigan’ centre. It was -5ºC outside with extra windchill – so cold I could only run out for 2mins and shoot things before hands got so frozen I couldn’t operate the shutter properly. This photo was taken looking into a blizzard with little flecks of snow/ice blowing hard into the lens (or my face, when camera wasn’t in the way). Ouch. Nikon d200, sigma 24-70mm lens
beautiful photo….even though I still have not recovered from my own previous winter!….back to photo, love the fence and can feel the cold from the lovely hue of blue, blue for cold…cold it looks very very cold.
Thanks! Time’s flying these days, only 6 months behind myself in posting photos, honest…
Yeah, blue & cold… I shot this on my normal daylight custom whitebalance and had to run it through warmup filter in PS as it is. Never been so cold before :)
Brrrrrrrr. PigleT it’s so wonderful to see the world through your camera lens, this is a wonderful photo and I’m going to make sure I’m never anyplace cold enough to see anything like that, but your “bravery” means I can enjoy what ridiculous cold looks like :D
