Winter in the Caledonian Forest
Early morning sunrise at Glen Affric; rays bright sunlight streaming through Scots Pine trees casting shadows on the mist.
Glen Affric is one of the largest areas of the Caledonian Forest reserve – where trees have been on the site for about 8000 years and some of the individual trees are 350-500yr old.
Taken on the Ricoh 500G rangefinder – my first test roll of Superia 200 through the camera. Completely unmanipulated – scanned straight with nothing more than setting the whitebalance off the index sheet.
Winter in the Caledonian Forest belongs to the following groups:

Thanks – yep, the lighting changed lots while I was there – one minute the light was winning, next minute the mist/fog obscured things again. Fun fun :)

Such beautiful light and soft colours – a really tranquil scene.

And another beautifully off-centered sun and mist and mood. Now when I look at our wee Scots pine trees, I’ll think of their origin.
