Misty Winter Morning, Glen Affric

Glen Affric is a glen south-west of the village of Cannich in the Highland region of Scotland, 15 miles west of Loch Ness. The area is a Caledonian Forest Reserve, a National Scenic Area and a National Nature Reserve. Often described as the most beautiful glen in Scotland, it contains one of the largest ancient Caledonian pine-woods in Scotland, where the trees range from 350-500 years old and there have been trees on the site for 8000 years, as well as lochs, moorland and mountains.

An early winter morning sunrise, sunlight scattered around Scots Pine trees in the mist.

Taken on a Ricoh 500G Rangefinder (35mm).

Yup, telling me. My favourite place on the planet, this is – something about the trees, and the light, and the snow, and the smell… Never fails to impress me :)

Beautiful capture. Stayed in Tomich on my last visit, but what a beautiful glen. Full of lovely walks, and I plan to return in the near future. Never been with my dSLR!!

Thanks! Yep, I totally love that place. There’s quite a nice b&b/farm up the road at Carnoch too. I tend to take too many cameras ;)
