Woman, oh woman
What have you done to me
You are only a memory
You are not real anymore
just a dream
So why do you invade my thoughts
You are only a sweet memory
But pain and hurt
is what your memory makes me feel
but still my mind and heart
your memory will not yield.
You were gentle and tender
as sweet as a beautiful, fragrant rose
even your thorns were gentle in my hands
and your beauty out shined everything it touched
in it’s presence time froze.
Under the twinkling stars above
how we used to dance the night away
I remember thinking, “I’ve finally found love”
Your eyes told me that you felt the same way
I remember those sparkling eyes, your smile
your loving body, how it used to be
making love was so easy
but now it is only a sweet sad memory
I try not to fall asleep
because you’ll be there again in my dreams
that’s when you become more than a memory
So I fall upon my knees
and ask God, “Why did she leave me?”
Did I do something wrong?
If I did, then please, please forgive me
for I cannot deal with your memory.
I want to let go
and I come so close, oh so close
but I see the memory
of the beautiful woman, of the beautiful gentle rose.
The rose is standing so proud and tall
my tears are falling on her petals
they are saying to the woman that was once mine
goodbye
but the memory will settle
more deeply in my mind.
You will be my lasting
memory
memory
memory
of woman in my mind.

    Isa, I first saw and still do the shape of a breast in you engaging abstract. I thought you were showing your breast again. :-o Now that I know it’s a twirly Hibiscus…. The image portrays well the emotions if Iris’ poem. You want to cry for the man, because you know it’s true, that he really lost her. Very nice collab. :)

    i changed it completely .. this is not the lily that was first placed with the poem .. i made this one from scratch.. placed a glass filter on a hibiscus, and dont remeber much past from there. i know that is bad , but I dont know how to do it any other way except go with the flow..lol..
    thanks so much , when I saw it , I though it goes perfect with the poem . I was wondering if you saw a woman here… lol. that is what I see. etched in the tears he has cried.. like when you are looking at her while you are crying.. :)

    oh!! USHNA!!!!!!!!. how do I say once more .. i sooo apologize for nort saying thankyou long ago when this was posted,.. again it got lost somehow . i run many groups, is one of the first reasons i get so busy here, but mostly it is my lak of memory , and organization.. i dont have those in stor e for me anymore, really , and though it is scary , the worst part is how i hurt people along the way when this sort fo thing happens.. i just want to say thankyou so much , and hope i dont do it again.. what a beautiful honor you have given to me..

    Isa, I knew you had taken the image of the lily down and wondered why for it was beautiful but you didn’t tell me about this. Now I understand why. This is absolutely marvelous. And yes, I see the woman, I see the breast and this piece of art goes perfectly with the poem. Since it is an abstract, but you also see the breast, well when you read the poem, it makes you look back at the image and makes your imagination run wild as to who is this woman, what does she really look like (because of it being an abstract and just a breast) and then you think she must really be some remarkable woman for this man is really aching because of his loss and can’t keep her out of his mind. You really blew me away and when I keep looking at this I get goosebumps just thinking about what we have created. Loved this. Iris

    Awwwww, Isa. It happens to all of us. Sometimes I am going straight to a read and then see another before that one and say, “let me read this one before I forget and then I’ll go to other and then I will be distracted to something else and when I come to see, I have forgtten completely about the original one, the one I was really interested in. So, I know she understands. If you think you are going senile, well, we are all headed that way. Love Iris
