Had to take another look at this one again—excellent usage of colored pencil, and I specifically like the direction of the lighting source—- it makes the puppy and his innocent youth very luminous and alive.

Jan, yes I find color pencil takes longer. Mostly because you have to lay down several layers to get just the right color and value. It’s more than just picking a color and putting it on the paper. Graphite is my first love, but color is very impressive for sure.
