Papilio palinurus is a butterfly of the family of the Papilionidae, the pages. It is found in the Oriental in South East Asia. It is also referred to as Emerald Peacock or Green-banded Peacock Swallowtail.

There are several subspecies (from Burma, Borneo, Indonesia, Nias and the Philippines).

The butterfly with a wingspan of 80 to 100 millimetres has iridescent green reflex on the wings. This green colour is not seen by many butterflies. The color is created by the special microstructure on the wings, which allows for regions that collect yellow and blue color. This together ensures that we are seing a green color the wings can 80% of the absorb sunlight, but are also able to overheat the butterfly body to cool down the underside of the wings is unobtrusive greyish Brown
